Why one-handed weapons instead of two-handed? Because this allows each character to also hold a Large Shield to decrease the number of hits they take. Furthermore, once speed and alchemical enhancements are factored in, the enhanced Longsword is actually at least as potent as enhanced two-handed weapons! -- Section 2 (video time 01:28) shows The Dream about Baphomet and the Apocalypse, obtained once the party has gained sufficient overall power to become fairly effective.
