As they were driving, they noticed the dog and saw that he was almost hit by a car. They stopped thinking he would not come to them, but they wanted to at least shoo him out of the road. He did go about digging in the water as if he were frantically trying to drink, but could not. Upon closer observation, Pet Savers found a massive impacted mat imbedded in his lower jaw; so large that there is no way he could have maneuvered his tongue over the matting to reach water to drink. We're not sure how he was able to survive this long, but he may have been drinking from a dripping faucet or water hose. We have seen imbedded matting in teeth, but never to this extent. To avoid ripping any skin, Pet Savers will have their vet remove the matting while Sirius is under anesthesia. Sirius also has green drainage coming from his eyes, both of which appear to have cataracts... one more severe than the other. He can see, though. His ears are indescribable. We will have our vet work on his ears also while he is under anesthesia. We're not sure of ...
